Property protection & cleanup · Toronto & the GTA
We protect your property — and prove it.
A roof replacement is a messy, heavy job happening right over your home. The fear is real: trampled gardens, a wrecked AC, and nails left in the lawn for months. So we cover what matters before we start, contain the mess as we work, and finish with a magnetic nail sweep — then save the photo proof to your project file.
See my roof planWhat we cover before a single shingle comes off
Protection is the first task of the day, not an afterthought. Tarps and plywood do the work, so the things you care about never take the hit.
Landscaping & gardens
Tarps and plywood runways over beds, shrubs, and walkways take the impact, so falling shingles and debris never land on what you planted.
Your air conditioner
The AC condenser is covered and shielded before tear-off. Stray nails and granules are the quiet way a roof job kills a working unit.
Pool, deck & patio
Pools, hot tubs, decks, and patio furniture are covered or moved clear. A pool full of shingle grit is a costly, avoidable cleanup.
Windows, siding & cars
We protect glass, siding, and anything parked nearby, and ask you to move vehicles out of the driveway so nothing gets dinged.
How we leave your property
Cleaned up — and the proof, in writing and in photos
Most roofers say they clean up. Very few show you. Here is the order we work in, and what you receive afterward.
Step 1
Debris containment, all day
Old shingles and offcuts go straight into a contained catch area or bin as they come off — not onto your lawn to be gathered up later.
Step 2
Full hand-and-eye walkthrough
Before we leave, the crew walks the roof, gutters, grounds, and gardens to clear nails, caps, wrappers, and any stray material.
Step 3
Magnetic nail sweep
We run a rolling magnet across the lawn, driveway, walkways, and beds to lift the dropped nails you cannot see. We do it again the next day.
Step 4
Photo proof it was done
The cleaned grounds and the swept-up nails are photographed and saved to your project file — so "we cleaned up" is something you can actually see.
Saved to your project file
- Photo of the swept-up nails from the magnetic sweep
- Photos of the cleared grounds, gardens, and driveway
- Dump tickets from the licensed disposal depot
- Before and after of any protected area (AC, pool, deck)

A photo of the nails we swept up
The magnetic nail sweep is the step most homeowners worry about most — and the one that is easiest to skip when nobody is watching. So we photograph the nails the magnet lifts and keep that photo in the same project file as your roof's evidence. The dump tickets go in too, so you can see your old roof was hauled to a licensed depot and not dumped down the street.

Find a nail after we leave? Call us — we come back, at no cost.
If you find a dropped nail, a piece of debris, or any damage tied to our work once we've packed up, we return and make it right. No invoice, no argument. We would rather drive back for one nail than have you stepping carefully around your own yard. This is a written promise in your agreement, not a slogan.

How do you protect my landscaping and AC during a roof replacement?
Before any shingles come off, we lay tarps and plywood runways over garden beds, shrubs, and walkways, and we cover the air-conditioning condenser. Pools, decks, and patio furniture are covered or moved clear, and we ask you to move vehicles out of the driveway. The goal is simple: nothing on the ground gets hit by falling material.
What is a magnetic nail sweep, and do you really do it?
A magnetic nail sweep uses a rolling magnet pushed across your lawn, driveway, walkways, and garden beds to pick up dropped nails you cannot see by eye. Yes — we do it before we leave and again the next day, and we photograph the swept-up nails and save the photo to your project file as proof.
What happens to the old shingles and debris?
Old shingles and offcuts go into a contained catch area or bin as they come off the roof, not onto your lawn. The waste is hauled to a licensed disposal depot, and we keep the dump tickets in your project file so you can see exactly where the material went.
What if you miss something during cleanup?
Our cleanup guarantee covers it. If you find a nail, a piece of debris, or any damage tied to our work after we have left, call us and we come back to make it right — at no cost to you. We would rather come back for one nail than leave you doubting the job.
