How much does a roof cost in Toronto & the GTA?

A roof replacement in Toronto and the wider GTA typically costs $15,000–$20,000 +HST for an average detached home, and $8,000–$40,000 +HST across all home sizes. Your price depends on roof area, pitch, the number of old layers, and the shingle system you choose — which is exactly why we measure your specific roof instead of quoting a flat figure.

A roof is only as good as the layers you never see.

Ice-and-water shield, synthetic underlayment, new flashing and balanced ventilation aren’t upgrades — they’re how a roof survives a Toronto winter. Explore the real work that happens before the shingles ever go on.

Toronto-winter ready

Engineered for the Toronto winter.

Ice dams form when heat escapes an unbalanced attic and meltwater refreezes at the eaves. We stop it at the source — ice-and-water shield well past the warm-wall line, plus balanced ventilation sized to your attic — so your roof handles January the way it handles July.

Flexible financing

A once-a-decade cost, on a monthly plan.

A roof is a fifteen-to-twenty-year purchase — it shouldn’t have to come out of one month’s budget. Financing lets you spread it out over multi-year terms, with no dealer mark-up buried in the price.

Your rate, monthly payment and full cost of borrowing are set on approval and shown in writing — we never post a teaser rate. See the representative APR and terms on our financing page.

Common questions

Roof replacement questions, answered.

How much does a roof replacement cost in Toronto and the GTA?

Most Toronto and GTA asphalt-shingle roof replacements fall between $8,000 and $40,000 +HST across all home sizes, with a typical detached home around $15,000–$20,000 +HST. Roofprint reads your roof from your address and shows a property-specific planning range — not a one-size-fits-all number.

Can I really see a price without a salesperson coming to my house?

Yes. Enter your address and your planning range appears on screen in about 90 seconds — no email, no phone number, no callback. The on-site visit only happens later, if you choose it, to confirm a number you’ve already seen.

Is the online price a final quote?

No — it’s a planning range, not a signed quote. It’s built from a real aerial measurement of your roof and named assumptions. Your fixed written price is set after a short on-site confirmation, with no surprise change-orders.

When is my deposit due?

Not until your materials are delivered to your driveway. You don’t hand over a large cash deposit to book — payments are tied to visible milestones and written into the contract.

What if you find rotten decking?

Replacement decking is a disclosed per-sheet rate (typically $90–$130 per sheet) quoted before we start. If we find rot, we show you the photo and bill only the sheets we replace — never a vague “hidden damage” up-charge.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — Roofprint is licensed and registered, carries WSIB clearance and $2M liability insurance, and installs certified IKO and GAF systems. Every credential is verifiable before anyone sets foot on your roof.
